    Brand new to boxing. Where to start?

    Hey everyone! I will use this as a bit of an intro thread with a question on how to get into boxing. To start off I'm a 17 year old guy from rural Ontario who is moving to Toronto and wants to start training and learning to box in a competitive environment. I am about 170 lbs at 6'0" with barely any muscle percentage (I don't have a specific %) I am super interested in the boxing scene, but I have no idea where or how to start. Does anyone have any starting resources for someone who knows pretty much nothing about boxing as well as clubs in the Etobicoke area where I can train.

    No need to go to a gym if you're not physically prepared:
    Start working on your anaerobic and aerobic conditioning;
    *Walking progresses to faster walking; faster walking progresses to jogging/running; jogging/running progress to interval running.
    *Learn to jump rope
    *Work on your strength with body weight exercises
    *Work on your flexibility and mobility, especially your hips and shoulders.
    *Instead of watching game of thrones or house of cards start consuming all the boxing fight videos you can via YouTube.
    After you've consistently done the above for a 6-8 weeks go find a boxing gym. If you can't commit to doing the above at least 4-7 times a week, don't bother looking for a gym if you want to seriously pursue boxing.

      Hey, thanks for your reply! I do jog currently I try to run/jog 2-3k every other day. I am pretty bad at skipping so I'll for sure have to work on that. As for every thing thing else I'll start to work towards that. I've been watching quite a bit of boxing matches in the past few days, and will have to get back into the gym for some weight training. My biggest issue will be balancing college and training but I'll do my best. I'll be sure to PM you with any questions. Thanks again!
