I trained at fight house I don't even think it exist anymore although the trainers I'm sure are still training somewhere.

There was a very good trainer at a gym in bushwick/ridgewood off the L train where the Serrano sisters trained, but I dint remember the name of it. They had one if the better amateur programs I saw in NYC.

Crunch in the easy village had a really good trainer from Syracuse, tall white dude with terrible tattoos.

Mendez has some good trainers but you'll be spending probably 140+ for membership + training.

The big problem with NYC boxing gyms is the gyms is they let anyone train there who can bring in clients. I saw some guy wasting a lot of time spending a lot of $ of bum trainers.

I think kingsway closed. I don't like the ownership at trinity. Don't like the ownership at church either or the fact there is no windows, but the facility is pretty good, again not cheap.

Honestly I'd just take a day or two to jump around/call them up for prices, and see what fits you. I lucked out because my first gym there a trainer saw me shadowboxing at one if the city fitness gyms, and offered to trian me there so I didn't have to pay boxing gym prices.

If your in NYC and not rich, I highly recommend joining one, its like 50$ for the year and there all over the city.

Join a gym or you will literally end up boxing like a fool. That's no knock on you, it's just impossible to do without aid. There are self taught guitar players, there are no self taught boxers.

OMG. Those fancy pants gyms could run you hundreds of bucks a month! And they always have those confusing packages and class schedules and what not. Those are for the upper class folk who have money to piss away without a care! Public park district is the only way to go!
