  • Training with fractured Sesamoid?

Hey guys, I recently fractured my sesamoid bone on my left foot and really dont want to stop working out. Doctor says sometimes that bone never heals but they are hoping it will and gave me kind of a cast thing for immobilization.

I know jumprope is out of the picture til if it heals but what about bag work? Maybe I can focus on weights for a while even. Any ideas?

No bag work since you still pivot. Honestly, I'd just use the stationary bike fl(if you can do it without discomfort). Calisthenics/Lift weights are your best options right now. You'll probably have to take it easy on the boxing for a bit since it's pretty demanding on the feet.

You should probably stay away from squats and things of that nature obviously. Change up your diet a bit to match your new training if you tend to eat a lot to try to avoid weight gain. I doubt youll be able to burn as many calories as you would boxing so keep it lean and lower the carb intake if you were getting more carbs than protein before due to energy needs in boxing. Take it slow. i don't f uck around when it comes to foot and back issues.

Take the time off, get some rest & let your foot heal. Just don't overeat & get fat!
