Right now my training is a 'at home training' just to get my endurance up, I shadow box, speed punch, push ups and squats with no weight. I also plan on taking private lessons once a week or every two week. I have no idea how my friend will train but in general he is on the lazy/last minute side.

How would you prepare for a fight given that you have one big training session available per week and 30 minutes at home when waking up each day? I need the 20% that will give me the 80% output, in other words I'm looking to maximize my short term result. I am not looking for a slow process that will make me a better fighter in the long run since I don't plan on fighting after that, except if I really like it.

It will be a 3 round fight, 3 minutes rounds with helmet and a referee. I am 5'6, 157 pounds, I used to be very muscular, at my peak I was 175 pounds 10% body fat, but now I am at my worst form ever and this challenge is also a good reason to get back in shape even tho I don't want to be as muscular as I was.

I know some of you will find this dumb or not a good way to train for boxing but this is not what this is about. It's a fun challenge between two friend.

    Thank you guys.

Cliff note: Fight in 10 weeks, 0 fighting experience, need advice on how to train to get 80% of the results with 20% of the inputs.

(sorry for my English it is not my first language)
Haha, been reading into the Pareto principle much?..

I'd say for 30mins a day, try and build up to 3x3min rounds of sparring by week 8 and taper down to week 9 and take that week off
It's such a short time, the only thing that can really help u is to get some fight experience through sparring. Stamina will also build up the more you spar.
    Gd luck!

p.s. why you fighting your best friend!? Lol

Do 4x800m sprints, with one min rest in between, at least two times per week.

Then, run 3-4km as fast as you can twice a week, preferably with some hills along the route.

Neither of you knows **** and it will just be a mess of a brawl so the fittest will win.

Technique wise, keep your hands up and punch straight, chin down also. Literally just keep your chin down hands up and throw straight punches.

The whole idea is ******ed but good luck

If on the day of the fight you have not done any training, Make sure you put some plaster of paris on your wraps. damp the wraps first and put the powder.
This will make your punch as hard as a brick. .

Neither of them are even close to being used to taking a punch. Its like taking a cement block and hitting them in the head.

Whoever is better prepared will have the edge. Why only a half hour a day? Stretch it out to an hour or two a day. I mean, by the time you are done with calisthenics and Cardio you won't have any time left for bag work.... and your one-on-one session with a trainer say you want to train for a exhibition charity type of event and you want to look your best and that you're trying to get some sparring rounds in. Hopefully during those sessions you can get a few sparring rounds in. In your bag work sessions concentrate on the juxtaposition of your feet with the rest your body as you throw combinations on the bag. Become comfortable in your stance and with your balance, and generally the more comfortable fighter will win. you will thank me once you kick your friend's ass. Now get to work.

Best advice right here. If you can't see private boxing coach, the very least you can do is watch some instructionals. I remember Title had some decent instructional back in the day.

Good idea my man!, TS you hear that, just hit each other in the head with a cement block. though I prefer a brick much cleaner and blood will blend in with the color of the brick.
