Yeah man. Apparently, gene therapy might be the key to cure many diseases too. Then comes the moral question. The world is already over populated, do we really want to cure terminal diseases and have everyone living over 100? That means we need more resources for an already over populated planet.Comment

I don't really think smoking has THAT much of an effect on you training..
I smoke on and off...i smoke when I train,if I have a big fight coming up Il cut back alot or stop completely..
Iv giving up smoking a number of times over the years and I don't 100% agree it fcks you up...
Yes your oxygen intake is a bit better, but it doesn't really drastically change..
I don't understand, I have asthma, I smoke and Il hold my hands up and say every now and then I cut a few corners in training...
But I can still go 3 rounds, in fact Im in better condition in the 3rd round than most people I fight which makes me think "what the fck are they doing"..
Some people I my gym don't believe that I smoke as I can out last them all in sparring, and they are putting in hard work and eating properly and all that stuff...
So is it just the individual, or is smoking in boxing or training in general not as big a deal as some people make out??
I think for amateur boxing anyway, its all in the head...if you belive you can go rounds,win,and concentrate throughout the fight I believe smoking doesn't really effect people/me that much. Their is a bit of a difference now I know...maybe for pro boxing ya,but I'm just talking about amateur boxing and fights/ training
Please no, o smoking is bad for your health in general type **** ha
P.S smoking constricts the blood vessels and makes them thinner so the more cardio you do the more strain it puts on your heart because blood pressure rises as the blood struggles to get though the smaller valve you have reconsticted.........Last edited by juggernaut666; 03-25-2016, 11:59 PM.Comment

Theres a gene to everything ,but in the end its one choice...its actually usually the visual addictions, that's why sex addicts are the worst to cure....Endorohins are the strongest feeling hormones one produces and that's produced more in sex wehich is actually the most addicting feeling if you are an addict of sex, .... Anyone can make the choice of genetic probability. Its like ********...when you are born you have a higher risk of certain out comes,its a roll of the dice.Comment

I ran a marathon last year and just as everyone was getting ready to race, some old dude who looked like 65-70 was getting into the starting position just puffing away on a cigarette, it blew my mind. The guy did not give a ****.
But yeah I do interval/circuit training every week, we push pretty hard in the sessions to the point where I'm barely catching my breath. But when I folded and picked up smoking again, my stamina/strength/speed dropped drastically and dropped to about 70% of where I usually was and completely out of breath. Needless to say I say i stopped smoking again.Comment
