    is a calerie a calerie?

or do calories from things like protein count as less because the body uses calories to break it down

what else uses calories to get broken down?

    "is a calerie a calerie?"

No, sometimes it's a human, other times it's a donkey and I've even come across a calorie that was actually motor oil.

A calorie is a calorie but your body needs the proper building blocks in order to be healthy.

Much better to feed it 300 calories of proteins, fats, and veggies than to feed it 300 calories of doughnuts. Even if you can burn them all off with a good workout.
