Which boxing gloves should I choose for training: closed thumb or open thumb

So I'm starting boxing next week and I need some boxing gloves for training and I don't know which one to choose.

Also mitt gloves or not?

Get some standard training gloves. The vast majority of them will be closed thumb.

Get some standard title or Ringside gloves for about 50 bucks.

Remember to buy 16 oz gloves not less and not more.

i will be mad as **** if i had to spar some new guy with open thumb gloves and i got thumbed in the eye.

the hookercut to the liver is sending him out the ring and most likely home for the day/week.
