  • Which hand is better to keep in front in a street fight?

the strong hand or the weak hand?

I know that in a boxing match you should have your weak hand in front. But how about in a street fight against random dudes?

Yeah, but let's just say that you don't train, so what hand is more important in a street fight, the back hand or the front hand?

Depends on style... what is your best weapon? For some it's the right hand..for others the left hook.. (or the southpaw counterparts) others find their best tactical asset is mobility and the jab...a street fight depending on the scenario..allows for alot more maneuvering room than a ring..so that could be a working tactic.

Id go for a right...or possibly a left hook.. but that's just me

Under no circumstances should you go into a fight with a different style from which you train. You are what you train.

doesn't matter. just be prepared to fight from any angle, position, hand, foot. thats real world fighting.

this boxing ring non sense goes out the window.

............'random dudes"?........I heard of those guys you better run away!!!

Personally speaking on today's streets I'd have one hand on my pecker and the other on my S.W. .38 M10. I'd empty the .38 and grab my pecker and haul azz!

Do kids fight in the streets these days? That could be dangerous......

            Happy New Year............

Generally you should trust your training but there are a couple of things it's good to adapt for the street.

Don't have a high guard but rather slip/duck punches for defense, remember that you don't have big gloves on yourself on the street. Peek-a-boo bobbing and weaving is not that good idea either when kicks are allowed.

It's good to throw a quick jab or a body shot as a warning on the street, most troublemakers will back off. If you're a trained boxer unleashing a powerfull hook or cross on some non-trained opponent can have devastating consequences. I think that they can even sue you for attack with a lethal weapon if you're a known amateur boxer or something.

If they persist and want to fight then 1-2s are probably the best weapon, check hooks are cool too if they run at you.

Shouldn't have messed with me then.

For me, its Too many variables in a street fight to mess around. They could have a concealed weapon. Plus, the sun shines on every dog's ass at least once. Even a Joe schmoe can land a lucky hit, and he might have friends you didnt notice at first. Push comes to shove, I'm throwing my most authoritative shots and explaining later.

If you don't train, it really won't matter because you're going to get beaten.

However, like the others said, you should fight the same way you've practiced.
