it's normal to be a bit nervous and tentative in the first sparring session, what you need to work on since you're a southpaw is lead foot dominance and the 112 and 12 combos, try to put your lead foot outside of your opponents lead foot and then launch the left, this way he can't counter you, to get to put your feet at the correct position you have to use your lead hand for distraction while creeping in on him.

You also should work on stance and balance a little bit, but you did better than a lot of people I've seen in the first sparring session, so stick with it, listen to your trainer and accept all criticism, good luck.

Thank you, I was a bit nervous and I remember I was struggling alot because I felt he was just waiting to counter me, so I felt that whenever I threw one he was going to counter, so I was trying yo faint him, also I remember he was close to the corner he started throwing a bunch of punches and instead of pushing I backpeddaled

      Thanks!
