  • Question about gyms in Los Angeles.

Hi everyone i have a question about gyms in the Los Angeles area. I was wondering what gyms you would recommend to someone wanting to fight in the amateurs with hopes of going pro. I was thinking of going to ten goose or wild card but was wondering if any one had experience with these and how it was. I was also wondering if they would still be willing to train me if i was 18 and take me serious because of my late start. Just trying to find the best gym to train me seriously.

    Thanks

I would go to some smaller gyms in the area firt there are plenty and learn the basics and then just go to those gyms and pay for a day pass to spar and train.... I just know how these gyms work and if you go there you wont get better cause (A) no one will work with you and (B) They will have you spar with tops guys and use you... I'm not talking crap on either one of those gyms i just know the game and how things work.. There a whole bunch of good gyms in So Cal.... You're fine at starting at 18 but my best advice don't go to those gyms.

Hey man thanks for replying, sorry Im responding so late been busy im actually only 16 but im moving out when i turn 18. I have been running close to 5 miles a day 5 times a week but haven't been hitting my heavy bag because i read that i may be using the wrong technique and it will take me longer once i do go to a gym. Do you have any advice on things i could train before going to a gym thanks.

Why dont you just go to a Gym and pick up the technique???

Thats a ****** way to think.
You are just wasting time by not trying to learn boxing.
And also keep in mind: Everyone is starting small. Mayweather, Pacquiao, GGG they all started from the bottom.

So dont be afraid to start as a total novice just go to a gym and box.
