Yeah just working the jab and only the jab on the heavy bag is good. Putting a cone down and shadowboxing but making sure your punches (in this case the jab) is landing above the cone.
As far as training on a moving target, using the double end bag and making sure you're getting near full extension. Or better yet if you have a sparring partner that doesn't mind catching some jabs in the ring that's even better.
Just make sure not to overdo the full extension and turn your hand over when shadowboxing or you might mess up your elbow, which sucks.

From Shadow Boxing, bag work, mitt work, and even when you spar... It should help you get the extension you want in you're punch.
Heres a video i did on the Jab... its what i have some of my guys do.

Toss a tennis ball in the air, catch it by throwing a jab. Initially, pause when you catch it to make sure you're getting proper position and full extension. When you get more comfortable, then start doing this at a normal pace.
This drill helped me a whole lot. I tend to throw my jab very lateral, meaning it comes straight out across the line of my shoulders. This is very hard to develop, and I don't entirely recommend putting your chips all in on this maneuver, but it maximizes your length while promoting an incredibly narrow stance. It's just really easy to develop bad form and habits with this 'style' of throwing jabs.
