Often, I don't see fighters dedicate a proportion of their training to solely foot speed. I am talking shuttle runs, ladder work... that sort of stuff. Floyd for instance, I never see him train his foot speed. Is the speed increased simply by constant repetitions of solid footwork? Do fighters need actually need to do 'foot speed training'?

I think dancing would help, salsa etc. controlling the distance to your partner,Originally posted by Bozbay View PostOften, I don't see fighters dedicate a proportion of their training to solely foot speed. Controlling her position, pulling yourself into range, pushing or pulling out of range. This is an over looked part of boxing.

Agility ladder, cone, and quickness drills. And obviously footwork drills.
But you need, to put it simply, to do everything fast and keep the activity level of your feet high.
It's not all the physical ability to do so, it's the mental capacity.Last edited by BG_Knocc_Out; 10-07-2015, 10:35 AM.

Just drilling speed ladder, jump rope, and ring movement will help you...
