Unlike cardio, muscle workouts can't be done long time. As for each repeatition, here's an interesting calculation.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/com...many_calories/
"You're right, here's a quick calculation:
Say you bench press a 100kg mass and it travels 1m (apparently you have really long arms). Lifting that weight 1m expends (100kg)(1m)(~10m/s²) = 1000J
Converting to calories and then kilocalories (food calories), this gives you something one the order of 1kcal. Bench pressing 100kg burns about 1kcal. Damn haha"
1kcal is 1 calories. Fasting > cardio > muscle workout for weight loss.

"Harvard Health Publications reports that when weightlifting at a high intensity, a 155-pound person burns 233 calories in 30 minutes. If you weigh 30 pounds more, you burn about 40 more calories; if you weigh 30 pounds less, you burn about 40 less calories".
1 chocolate bar is like 500 calories or so.

I am obviously not "trying" to disprove you. They are just the information I've seen, heard, collected so far.

Are you actually picking unreliable sources on purpose?

I am picking up reliable references or the references matching those reliable references or the references that has references to the reliable references.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/fat_...ining_wars.htm
"They would respond that when they want to lose fat, they start doing more cardio. When they want to build muscle, well naturally, they weight train. Seems to make sense. Cardio burns off calories; weight training makes you gain weight. "
http://www.womenshealthmag.com/weigh...eight-training
" If you are in an epic battle with your scale, cardio is the way to go. If you want to look steamy under those fall sweaters, though, it's time to cozy up to strength training."
Exactly which "actual reference" says that muscle works waste a lot of calories? Anyway, cardio burns more than weight training. Also, fasting burns more than cardio.
http://www.self.com/fitness/2011/10/...-and-appetite/
"Maybe you've heard the recent downer reports that exercise won't make us thin because it makes us hungry"
Most importantly, "fasting with little exercise" has given me results. I weigh 20kg less now. Just gotta lose 10 more kilograms by November or December before I get into short story writing.

Why do you ask us about losing weight and why your pecs hurt if you are just going to disagree and come up with your own solution you found on reddit?
I can't site every source I've ever looked at because that would be 3 years worth of youtube videos, trial and error with exercise on my own, and countless forums/websites. But I can remember the information I learned in the last 3 years and can sort out which of it was crap and what was right.
The way you describe your middle pecs hurting coincide with cramping which is your cells not producing enough ATP because of not enough oxygen reaching your cells. So you are either not breathing right or not eating enough food so your bodily processes aren't functioning right.
SCIENCE B1TCH!!!!!

Quora is not a reliable source. Its like saying Facebook or Yahoo Answer is reliable. Its sometimes reliable. But you need more than one.
Your one of those people who believe stuff from hearing it on Facebook and stuff.
Like I said, all this questions your asking, is best asked on Bodybuilding forums. Cause we're trying to help and answer, and you're always a smart ass about stuff and your hella lazy trying to make it as easy as possible while putting your health at risk.
