Boxing News wrote a good piece on creatine supplements..."Creatine supplementation increases phosphocreatine stores within our muscles, the result of which ensures we can produce high forces for a longer period
    of time"

If your eating well there isn't many supplements you Would need.

I would go with zma, protein if your missing meals, maybe creatine. My one Problem wo creatine is it will store more water weight. I really don't know what the effect Would be for boxers.

It's worth a try though, gist remember for it to be effective you need to take it everyday because it stores itself in your muscles.

I knew a guy that took creatine before a fight and he said he almost had a heart attack because it mixed with the adrenalin.

Idk if that was the real reason but it happened regardless.

Are you trying to take one before you fight or while training?

Supplements are fine for boxing. Like with anything else, what you use will depend on your goals and routine. My advice is slowly come of and cut them out of your training a couple of weeks before your fight. Should keep you from an accidental pop on a test and you will be fighting 100% unless you sustained an injury or illness.

Creatines has problems when it comes to boxing

#1 It in itself does not dehydrate you but it does increase the bodies demand for water. In boxing we are always cutting weight and limiting water intake so in that sense creatine does dehydrate you.

#2 It does bloat you and slow you down due to added water weight. However it does increase alactic metabolism. Personally the I do not believe that the added weight over the course of a fight is worth the extra few seconds you can flurry before you have to back off.

Creatine should be used for training purposes only and then you have to know what you get from it. Creatine lets you get a few extra reps or seconds. If you want to use it in training take advantage of the extra it gives you to increase your progress but cut it off before you fight. The added alatic stamina is not worth the weight.

Unless its regular vitamins and minerals I say no

A lot of protein, fiber, etc based products make you bulky and that's not conducive in boxing since its more about flexibility and stamina

Diuretics are banned so I wouldn't even both with supplements past regular stuff, cut weight the natural way and hydrate with water, gaterade, pedialyte type things

Having the right diet helps out the most

For Protein, he won't be bulky unless they are taking 1.5g x bodyweight. So a scoop of Gold Standard whey protein a day won't put in bulk. 2 scoops (About 48grams of protien) is usually recommend to help repair and maintain muscles, so they won't break down. You would need to take 1.5 x 150lbs = 225 grams of protein per day to bulk/build muscle.

Just keep your macro nutrition correct to your body, or per trainer/doctor/ recommendations.

I don't think anyone who is good needs to take supplements.
