          Explosiveness training, pliometrics, shadow boxing with 1-2kg weight, mitt sessions focusing on speed and coordination only

            It starts in your head. When you are working the heavy bag etc. then take power out of the equation. Just focus on how quick you can get shots off. Stay relaxed. As stated before plyometrics are great for explosiveness so try those as well. Throw on some boxing gloves and work on punching a racquetball or a tennis ball against a wall trying not to let it hit the ground.

              If you are talking about the punching speed (hence, bigger punching power for the same muscle mass), it is not about how much you tense up but about how sensitive you are to elasticity. Focus on elasticity. Feel the tensile strength pouring up to the target like a rocket. It is a mental sensation thing. You have to capture that sensation with your head. It is like you are pushing something really heavy, and you just pour and pour forces to move it an inch but it won't. That kind of hard river kind of sensation. It's a mental thing. Don't focus on how tense your arms are. Focus on how elastic they are.

                    No, I don't know any Alexkid aside from the irrelevance why it should matter. What I say is what I say. What I ask is what I ask. The legitimacy doesn't change.

                    Tension means muscle contraction, which means you have less muscle room to contract your muscles because they are already somewhat contracted. It's like the shortness of breath when you are anxious. The tension does not make the breathing more powerful. Because of the tension, your breath has less room to do what you want. Now, it can be confusing in perception that being jerky in movements & tense in muscles makes the strike or the push faster & stronger. No, that extra tension makes you feel like something is being worked (you feel like doing more efforts for your intention), but it just takes away your room to do something. It is like the shortness of breath doesn't make your lungs powerful. Undirected tension works against you. Being relaxed feels like doing less effort, but you are doing all you can with your limited human body, and you are using more room for muscle contraction with that relaxation instead of some undirected tension not working in favor of your punch speed & power.

                    This is, of course, different from doing a light fast punch without committing muscles. Not committing muscles is the fastest (like a probing punch). I am assuming talking about fast power punch.
