  • Why no jumping punches like in kickboxing and street fighter

I would have thought a jump would add new angles to get your punches in.

u can if ur fast enough lol.. or dare to... or have superior timing...
or willing to take big risks..

i can think of reasons not to though:
    1. risk is far greater than reward(?) debatable (?)
    2. a jump is a big movement. while ur in the air, u are very vulnerable...
    3. i dont think its that much of a surprise...? (debatable?) but ive had ppl try to do superman punches in a boxing sparring session, dunno if they were going slow or what, but it was very very obvious... probably couldve dropped him with a big right hand if he wasnt my friend (stepped away lol)
    4. u gotta be super explosive with your legs.

conclusion: i would say its not a very economical move and the risk is not worth the reward

Your legs hold you up when getting hit!!!!

        That pretty much explains.

When kicks are allowed it can work to feint low then jump and hit high. In boxing the opponents attention is always above the waist so it's much harder to pull something like that off.
