I use it for endurace , so , my arms must always be high. when i'm punching , iy elbows are at the level of my head. In this case , i using the bag higher than me about 2-3 inches (+/-)

The bottom should be nose or eye level.

I use it for endurance , for speed or reflex , i use double ended ball.

It burns as hell as it's too high.

This is correct ,i go as high as 5 inches over it helps with endurance ,towards the end i lower it ,its also a plus for shorter guys punching up to a taller opponent .

Bottom of the bag at chin height. You can raise the height to increase arm & shoulder strength & stamina along with using a peanut (small) bag to a medium and large.
Speed bag work should be a great workout with shadowing in front and behind it.
When done correctly speed bags are a much better workout than double end work.
Double end is a techniques session the speed bag is a conditioning session.

Duran was the best I ever saw inperson on a speed bag. Leonard was also impressive.

                Ray.
