Have you ever tried training your core like any other muscle? Doing 200 sit ups is fine it can help tone if you have little body fat and increase endurance but a common mistake is that people forget to train it like you would anything else.

Spend a day doing weighted decline sit ups with a vest or a barbell plate break it up into 3-5 sets with reps of 8-10 and push the weight up when it gets too easy, you should be struggling to get the last few reps up. If you have a barbell and are able to do Landmine 180's for 3 sets do that, Landmine 180s are in my opinion the best exercise for abs if you have the room and equipment.

I find calisthenics are best for me when training. I feel slow and too bulky when using weights.

It would be a mistake, there isn't an athlete in the world that doesn't incorporate some form of heavy resistance training into their workout.

I'm not talking deadlifts and barbell squats or a bench press, your core only ever gets stronger if you push it to lift more weight. Unless your upper body starts putting on serious weight then your core muscles never grow, you talk about your core getting tired when you hit the heavy bag. Someone who weighs 20-30lbs more than you would increase their core strength more from sit ups than you because of the extra weight. If you don't want to lower the reps then increase the weight add a plate to your body and see what the maximum is that will still let you reach 200 sit ups.

I don't have weight jackets or decline sit ups bench. I started doing different ab workouts instead so I'll see where that takes me. Btw alot of boxers don't use weights.

The majority do I guarantee you, they might not do 5x5s or heavy bench but they will do shadow boxing with dumbells, weighted pullups, running with a weight vest, they might do higher reps and more sets and if boxers are moving up in weight they will use weights.

It would be foolish for any athlete not to incorporate some form of resistance training. Any conditioning coach would tell you this. Even marathon runners have tailored strength programs

Perhaps your fatigue is brought on by this. You can strenghten your core, if you want, but make sure to schedule your workouts. I don't think the answer is doing even more. It's just not necessary to work out your core this extensively. Give your body time to recover.

Ya that's true. Thanks for the advice, I hope I'll get the chance to use it.

I think it's just my breathing. I also believe I probably am not doing enough different exercises for my core. I started doing 200 leg raises on top of what I already am doing and it seems to be working. Plus variations with push ups.

                    L-sit on parallettes.

Gymnastic holds are the best way to increase core strength. Full stop. Not even debatable really.
