My wife has some yoga videos and kinnects games and when I overtrain I find that doing a yoga day with her helps immensely. There's so many variations with some being mostly stationary stretches to others that are like a workout and give you a real burn. Wish I could recommend something specific but, like I said, I just join in on what the wife is doing. Bob Harper seems to give a good combo of stretch and exercise. It's definitely not old lady yoga. He does some yoga/tai chi hybrid stuff that'll keep you limber.

For boxing, I never got much benefit from static stretches (some even made things worse). Dynamic is def the way to go for me personally.

i read that movement has been proven to be much better for increasing flexibility than static stretches. i started doing more of that stuff again just a few weeks ago and is already feeling better results.

i have been looking into yoga as well but havent got around to it. that thing porter did with hank lundy and the other dude looks cool, i know some women who tried it and said good things.

Something about static stretches leaves me more prone to tendon irritation, and can aggravate tendonitis in areas that are already bothered . That's why I NEVER stretch before a workout anymore, I just do some light warming up. I used to think it was just me but I'm seeing more and more sports science info that says not to stretch before exercise, as well as promoting dynamic stretching. I can't say what's right or wrong, only what worked for me. My muscles have always out-powered my tendons so I'm really, really careful when it comes to keeping everything limber and healthy.

DDP Yoga (from the former pro wrestler Diamond Dallas Page) helps me a lot when it comes to stretching out the spine and keeping it limber. Also some of the small stabilizer muscles that most people never focus on have gotten stronger.
