I was scared until the adrenaline kicked in. You'll be lucky if you last more than 2 rounds during your first spar. That stuff needs experience so you don't waste energy.

Your going to find out that the way you thought everything works in a boxing match , it doesn't.

You thought you had good conditioning, you don't.

You thought you were tough, wait until you get hit when your exhausted.

And hopefully you'll find out your trainer knows what he's doing and won't let you get slaughtered for no reason.

Nervous wreck. You get hit for the first time and then after that you relax when you realize it isn't that bad. All the combo's you worked on in shadowboxing, heavybag, double end bag feel useless, forgetting simple stuff like keeping your hands up. 16 oz gloves feel too big and always in the way.

Yesterday I got worked for the first time. First round I was outboxing the kid, timed him and caught him with a couple of nice straight right hands and was just smoothly outboxing him. 2nd round I felt a little confident so I decided to engage more and everything went to shyt .

The guy was lighting me up on the inside with combos, and pressuring the hell out of me. I was dead tired too. It turned out the kid weighed 170, and I'm only 150. I'm the taller fighter, but he was muscling me around. Gotta keep on working on my inside fighting game. Can't wait to see that kid again

Do they weigh you and ish?

I'm also worried about hurting people as I've always been a big puncher... I just feel very strong when I punch and am afraid of hurting people.

              LOL.

Yeah, you feel nervous, but deep down I accepted what I signed up for. If anything I drew motivation from Khan and how he always shows heart after getting hurt. Not that early sessions were bad. Also my coach knew what he was doing, I'm not gonna brag about his credentials, but the point is we had what's called "controlled" sparring.

Key is going to a gym where the coaches know what they're doing. One can get seriously hurt of the people who are supposed to be watching you don't know what they are doing.

5'10. Usually walk around on the lower end of 150.

Not that bad until they throw you in with a pro... my trainer put me in right away... but we were kids... it wasn't until I was 16-18 that he started throwing me in with pros... you better have your stamina up and be able to take a punch cuz your going to be catching punches out of nowhere...

I took a bad beating. No one was around to stop it. I'm a warrior so I wasn't going to quit.

I think that gym war might have ruined me. I feel like I can't pull the trigger like I used to before. I feel gun shy somewhat.
