Ok im kinda pissed at the moment, iv done a 101billion thing to put on weight put its just not happening, im forever between 57 to 58 kg, no matter what, its really hard to find some1 to match me whit over this,so im almost forever conceding weight and fighting at around 60kg or so,might not seem alot to give up but lets be honest alot of them would be just over 60kg, so anyway this greyhound breed in me is blocking alot of oppertunitys for me,i was offered a fight on a huge card where all the national trainers would be watching, but my trainer said no over me conceding too much weight on the night..i tried to get down to this weight in the first place, and was fighting away grand, but when i went to go back up in weight i was permantly stuck at this, now i have always been "skinny" i suppose but really, weight is not budgeing up or down,, so what do i do?? Do i keep giving away weight and fighting lads who are bigger,or just wait till every now and then someone my size comes along?? Problem whit that doh is i love to fight and have not yet passed up an oppertunity to fight if it was offered to me....... sorry for the spelling ha

I hear you. I've got a crazy metabolism and couldn't get above 145lbs in high school and 165lbs until I was 27 (and I'm over 6'2"). Then, the muscle started filling in and in my 30's, it's easy to stay at a prime weight. It's just going to suck until your body matures. Giving up a little weight isn't a big deal if you have the height on your opponent. I wouldn't advise you to be taking on guys your height while giving up significant weight though. If you have to take fewer fights, so be it, so long as you're not working on a boxing career then you have the luxury of making smarter, safer decisions. Don't fall into the trap of thinking it's a measure of your toughness because safety's more important. You're already boxing, that's proof enough that you have balls.Last edited by Redd Foxx; 05-14-2015, 05:05 AM.
