    @redd foxx Definitely makes sense, thanks for the tips. And yea, sitting down on my punches is definitely something i've been working on lol. The last year or 2 has been me re-working my footwork and stance because of MMA/kickboxing, and my forte being grappling. The stance was completely different haha.

    @biolink, Interesting...does anyone else wanna chime in on this? Everythign I've been taught was the opposite lol. DONT do that because you lose speed and it's a major telegraph.

        There's not as much of a tell as you would think. You're shooting it out just like you would on your snappier right hands except you are raising the elbow up at the last possible moment that you shoot it. If someone is quick enough to time that you deserved it.

          Regarding the right, keep in mind that there's a hundred ways you can modify a punch based on the circumstance. Sometimes you do what's necessary to prioritize speed, other times you want maximum power and have enough time to work with. Also depends on your positioning, where the opponent's arms are, etc. Try it multiple ways and when you're practicing, use your imagination to work thorough these scenarios. After a while you just adjust without thinking about it. Someone mentioned Mayweather, he's a perfect example of how many ways you can throw a right cross.

              Yea, while I definitely get that there are many options depending on the situation (especially get that coming from a bjj background lol), just hadn't been taught that particular detail before. and I don't know who Alexkid is?

                  when i watched the vid it seemed like you aren't a natural boxer. seems like a lot of the movements don't come naturally to you. like you are naturally more of an MMA guy, before you pointed it out in this thread that was my immediate thought.

                    You seem to be a bit too upright when you shadow box...you have decent technique but it really looks to me more as if you are doing stand up prep for an MMA fight rather than pure boxing.

                    With the bag work, same thing - you are a bit stiff/upright and leave yourself open when you bring your hands back after combinations.

                    Just relax more, use your feet a bit more actively with more bounce and try to be less rigid - be a constant quick mover - imagine yourself being your opponent...you would love a slow moving rigid guy in front of you, but would hate a quick moving, well-drilled defense guy who throws relaxed technical punches with power.
