Has he ever had an actual bout?

This is a bad idea.......what is a fraternity event? Never heard of it.....if its more or less sparring with an opponent of equal skill and experiance then fine......Tell him to keep his hands up and wait for the other guy to tire out..then lay into him.......
If this is an actual bout where your actually trying to hurt each other then dont let him do it. If your his true buddie, u wont let him do it.

If i was out of shape and fighting i would kill the guy as soon as possable and go for a quick knock out. The longer hes in the fight the weaker hes gonna get obviously and then less chance hes gonna be able to knock the guy out. Or if hes out of his depth throw the towel in if he could get seriously hurt. Wtf is a fraternity fight anyway?

I don't think people know what you are talking about. This type of match is fine for your friend.

My guess is that if your friend is fighting someone alot lighter than him and unless they are even close to his weight he will kick their ass.

All you should do is a little shadow boxing with him. Make sure that he keeps his hands up and his eyes open and on you when he throws punches, lots of noobies **** that **** up. Also throw some light punches at him help him work on blocking.

If he blocks one of this other guys' punches and the other guy probably has no experience he will freak the hell out and probably quit right there.

are you serious? can't believe im trying to answer this question.
You got two choices, pull him out or go in swinging?
            take your pick.

just go over and over and over technique with him and dont feed him on ****.

but a better idea would be pull out of the fight and train him till hes ready.

              gud luck.

It's a faternity fight (that will most likely have already been), pulling out is never an option.
