Left (lead) hand low to draw the opponent into throwing a straight right hand. Roll the lead shoulder, rolling away and return with your own straight right.

Throw the left hook, throw it short, so it does not land, loading your back leg. The short hook provides you cover and distracts the opponent. Then fire the right hand.

Throw the jab short of landing and advance with the right hand.

Feint with either hand the draw the guard up and hit the body.

Look low and hit high (feinting with the eyes)

If you want a clever boxer to come to you, many guys will back into a corner with their lead foot set, when the opponent moves in, the fighter will immediately pivot out trying to turn the tables and force the opponent into the corner.

If someone is a lazy jabber, its pretty common to see a seasoned fighter take one step off (back) as the jab comes and throw a right hand counter over the top.

      Those are just a few

Here are some traps or tricks some fighters have used recently

Maidana jabs jabs jabs to the body, opponent gets accustomed to it, boom Maidana throws a left hook followed by his overhand right. (Broner vs Maidana)

Floyd gives Hatton the illusion that he is going to trap him in the corner against the ropes, he goes along with it backing towards the corner simultaneously baiting him with his head in a low vulnerable position, Floyd is really lining up a check hook and just at the last second Hatton beings to throw to pin Floyd, Floyd fires a sharp check hook just as Hatton is most vulnerable.

Canelo flares a distracting left hand that hinders his opponents senses. Just at the same time he throws a sweeping right upper cut to the head.

Floyd pull counters a lazy jab from Shane Mosley, returning a straight right hand to a very vulnerable Mosley

          Feint.
          Leave some sh.t open.
          Stand within their range.

Basic stuff really. Forget combinations. Find the opponent's tendencies, get the timing down, force them out with the above.

If you're good. You'll counter them easy.

Hand them a pen to sign the contract with - something similar to a Ray Robinson quote

Check Hook and Pull counter are the most effective.

A check hook is so easy. I did one my first time in a boxing gym like 2 days after that Mayweather Vs Hatton just trying to copy Floyd and dropped my much bigger(and who we thought was the much better fighter) on his ass and spun his headgear around so he couldn't see.

Pull Counter takes more confidence. You have to change your stance so that the weight is on your nack leg and give your opponent the illusion that you are closer than you really are by subtly leaning forward.

Feint with the legs, Pacquiao does it all the time.
