  • Do you find this weird?

Ok , i think i posted a similar post couple months back anyway.

I joined a boxing gym its going great 2 months in and iv conditioned my arms and i can tip toe without getting tired alright, heres the problem i am 6ft1 or 6ft
im 18 turning 19 and i weigh 52kg sometimes 53kg (113 lb) , i also have LONG arms the coach loves my build but i haven't told him about the weight because its too early for me to fight in amateur boxing... i have crazy power in my jabs as well

Iv done some research and the avreage flyweight is small as **** like 5ft4 - 5ft5 this worries be a little bit lol i see no 6ft flyweights except for me, and if i do later in life turn pro il be paraded as a freakish athlete. Is this weird??? i mean i feel fine iv always been skinny this weight is no problem iv sparred abit i just jab and run lol im also quick... i can put on weight like max 55kg but my body won't change
if i go gym my build will become small e.g my arms ... am i a paul williams or just a freak?? should i continue boxing or will it hurt my body in the long term ..

    Thanks

P.S i can go as low as 49kg anything lower i have to starve myself lol... even with a full stomach im 53kg , in my lifetime i think i can go as high as 56kg but im not willing to risk my height and reach, i know how to use them religiously

I know 50kg at 6 feet is seriously underweight and can be hazardous to your health. I wouldn't recommend boxing in that condition. I think you should consult a doctor, especially if you are unable to gain weight no matter how much you eat. It could be caused by a disease of some kind.

However, reading your post you seem to be consciously sustaining this weight because you are very impressed by your own ability to use your reach. If so, I would just recommend eating a lot more.

If it working just stick to it but before embarking on physical activity as taxing as boxing, you should go see a medical doctor to make sure everything is in working order.

Iv been like this 3 yrs but I'm cool with it and I enjoy boxing it's a great sport , physically I'm not exhausted or tired I don't have any issue with this weight

Lol I dunno , doctor said just said try expanding ur portion and eat a lot of protein

IF you have medical clearance for such a physical sport than go for it!
IF your not feeling trauma from punches and you recover quickly from stressfull exercises continue on.
It takes years to learn Methods & Techniques in actualality you never stop learning in boxing. You need an experienced trainer to gain add to your abilities.
Forget what you weigh at your age your from from maturation so don't weigh yourself unless your concerbned with "loosing" weight.
I would suggest 5 small meals a day aqnd the lightest prior to gym about 2-2 1/2 hours.
Height and weight catagorize you in a weight class it has little to nothing to do with success. Mental toughness is more important than height!
good luck, train hard and retain what your learning.
            Ray.
