  • Hit in the eye, still seeing spots, possible retinal detachment?

My trainer accidentally hit me in the left eye w/ a mitt ( i didn't slip in time). i'm stll seeing floaters and this happened earlier today, about 3 hours ago. I didn't think much of it until i told my sis and she said omg go see a doc right now you might have detached your retina. I have no health insurance and don't wanna go waste money and freak out if this is something that will just go away in a few hours. what do you guys think?

If new or different floaters have appeared after receiving the blow to the eye then it's best to get it checked.

I left the room mid post so the above weren't there. Obviously, go with the more informed advice.

No new flashes or lights. Thanks for you replies but just for peace of mind i went to the doc. she dilated my eye and checked everything. THANK GOD, i;m good. nothing detached. but i have Myopia and bad astigmatism so she said i'm at a high risk for retinal detachment and that i disturbed some vitreous fluid and that is what is causing the floaters. she said no physical activity for a week bc that fluid needs to settle down. i guess tell my trainer to take it easy on me and don't punch back lol. again, thanks for the replies and looking out for me.
