  • What do you think the best cue is for the hips?

Some examples of cues for you so you know wtf im talking about. A cue helps get the hips working.

    1) Turn the ankle

    2) Grind out a cigarette with the ball of the foot

    3) Squish the bug

    4) Turn the heel out

    5) point the knee in

    6) Point the toe in

    etc etc

To me they all produce slightly different results, and feel slightly different some more powerful than others, some feel faster and less heavy some feel stronger and heavier etc

My favourite is turn the heel out it gets me the most explosive/fast punch, but its not as heavy/strong feeling as some others, but I will keep working it and hopefully it will become as strong, I got more weight on it lately after rockin jarred my memory, but its still lacking in weight/strength a little compared to the others.

    What do you think?

I think cues like the above are great for complete novices but by now I don't think they will help you generate more power.

How will focusing on "turning the ankle" or "pointing the knee" for example, aid in producing power? You are taking focus away from what matters. The turning of the foot / knee (of the rear) is not what generates the power per se.

Now you should be using cues that focus on a generating rotational force / acceleration and how you transmit this force into the target.

Wyclef calling out "Shakira Shakira" seems to work wonders.
