Is it bad when people say you have a good chin?

Even though you probably already know this, but as people have said in the past the best way to practise your defence is to spar without throwing any punches.

This will stop your problem in constantly trying to counter punch. Just let him throw punches at you for round after round and you will see some improvement in your defence. Just keep bobbing/weaving and keep your hands up.

I tried to do this but in my gym these meatheads don't go easy and when I catch a good one in the nose or something I always revert back to trying to knock the other guys head off.

I wish there was a boxing gym close so I coud just work on my boxing with some experienced guys who will work with me and aren't trying to prove how tough they are by trying to take my head off.

But none of the guys in my gym have good hands and every sparring match turns into a brawl because someone gets their feelings hurt because they can't dodge a punch

I am guilty of that also

When I shadowbox I move my head pretty good but in the ring I don't for some reason

I know it can be ****in annoying to have to spar against meatheads who turn boxing into a brawl, but in theory this should be all the better practise. Tell them before hand to just go easy and tell them you won't be throwing any punches. Keep slipping there punches and even if they do hit you just keep going with it, boxing is all about discipline, you need to learn to keep your head cool anyway. So just try and keep at it,
