    awkward/unnatural puncher

I've been training as a boxer for 3 or 4 months now, progress has been very slow training my technique 2 days a week 2 hours a session. My trainer says I'm not a natural puncher and I'm to tense when i shadowbox etc. Another problem is i can't seem to get my hips and legs to twist correctly to throw a Cross uppercut or hook. Any tips to help me loosen up or correct my form would be appreciated.
P.S. I'm going to start seeing a Physical therapist in hopes it well help me loosen up and not be so tense.

You're probably trying to throw punches hard and fast and are tensing up from that. Try to throw slower punches and rotating your entire body into every punch so it becomes habit. As you develop the technique you can start throwing more powerful punches without tensing up.

You will loose up in time. That's how things are in boxing. It might take a year to get the boxing style right.

To incorporate your shoulders, hips and feet into your technique use the heavy bag. When your technique is working you can "feel" the difference compared to not working. You must start by punching through the bag you can NOT have your arm fully extended upon impact!!

Having someone hold the bag and checking your pronation and hip turn would be a big help for you.

As for tension you need to work on being relaxed during all phases of training.
Focus your mind on the task but let your body just react to the task.
            Enjoy your training!

Man at less than a year in you're just getting started anyway, don't think too much. Its not an easy sport it takes time. Keep putting in the work and don't forget to get laid once in a while. A man can't throw smooth punches with full nuts, it ain't natural.
