What were you taught first when you started boxing?

    Yeah, I'm moving to a new area next week and there's an amazing gym there which looks good. And they have experience teaching southpaws, whereas my old trainer had never taught a lefty.

    But it's good to see someone else had a similar experience.

      This approach was good in my opinion. Those are solid basics to learn first.
      co sign. I also have the added benefit of learning from a trainer who shares my smaller frame and worked his way up to winning a world title back in his heyday.

          I move around with my fighters til they have good balance then proceed to learn them the straight shots.

            Stance, how to stay not squared up, and how to step back and forward in a straight line consistently with the jab.

            Then the right hand, and how I could bend my knees more and really "knock this mother ****er out"

            The first day of boxing was 5% jump rope, 95% shadow boxing
