If your not a fighter training to fight then high end endurance training isn't needed. Road work opens lungs to be able to endure stress activity, you don't need that. It also builds legs to be able to work in tandem with your neck and jaw to absorb trama, you don't need that either.

Surface needs to be taken into consideration for your leg joints. Stay off concrete and similar hard surfaces. Jumping rope on a hard pad or heavy rug wound be helpful.
To me the best activity is to simulate a boxing match through shadow boxing.
Have a few different intensities to use when shadowing!
Make sure your not fully extended your arms (3/4 length) and keep your head up looking straight!
    2 rds to warm up
3 rds up tempo shadow out
    1 rd of shaking out

then move on to other Methods & Techniques.
Swimming is the best substitute for road work.

You can also do sprint training too, 3 days a week starting with 10 100m runs.

Wow, information overload now, cheers guys, lots of great advise.

Food would be my last question if anyone could help sometimes I get weak and dizzy without even training so I drink a 1/4 cup of coke and my energy picks up.

I know it's the boost of sugar but I think eat enough. Just wondered what your thoughts are and how you guys approach it.

My daily sort of diet would consist of

          Breakfast

2 x banana and black coffee with no sugar

          Lunch

          Chicken or ham salad
pecan nuts, raisins, g****s mixed with Greek yougurt
Nuts for snacks ( if I need it )

          Dinner

meat or fish with green veggies and potatoes/rice

If it's a none training day I tend to keep a very low carb intake
Everything cooked in grass fed butter and cocoanut oil
I also try to have my last meal before 7:00 and not eat until the next day

Dont drink coke, its horrible, drink green tea if you need a pick up, one black cofee per day isnt too bad.

Since you are just starting just ease into it, then listen to your body, if you need a rest day or you need to pick up the tempo when you are training.

The key is to know yourself and your body.

And have fun while you get fit or you will quit easy.

Green tea, that's interesting. When I feel weak I crave sugar?

Will green tea counter act this?

Processed sugars are not needed, natural sugars in fruit etc are much better for you.

Green tea has 1/6 of the caffine of coffee but it delivers the caffine over a longer period of time and has more antioxidants.

As you have asked in a previous post, diet has so much to do with weight loss and staying healthy.

Your diet looks fine, but please never drink Coke its absolute garbage. Same goes for energy drinks. Last thing man trying to get fit needs is a bunch of refined sugar or high fructose corn syrup.

Ok point taken, do you have any suggestions for eating or drinking something pre workout or during when I presume my blood sugar gets low and I feel weak?
