What's more incredible is that the guy makes money using someone else's style of training! Just like that one other bitter Coach Rich!

I know that's just sparring but one of the problems with Floyd's style for people who aren't Floyd is that he uses it only vs boxers. That style is useless against kickboxers.
I've watched a lot of pro boxers who fought in kickboxing matches. The only ones who ever seem to do well are very aggressive ones who manage to ruin the kickboxers balance enough to neutralize their other strikes. Sitting back all "slick" like that isn't fighting, it's a style of boxing for decision wins and isn't applicable to anything else.

That's like saying that kickboxing is useless in a Brazilian jujitsu match. It's comparing apples and oranges.

2 sides to every story
I 1st heard about Barry because I follow this forum. Most comments paint him to be something I now know he is not. I decided to follow him on his FB page Clean Boxing.
The first thing I saw was this post a testimonial from a guy in New Zealand
This peaked my interest because here you have people on a forum trashing this guy but some White Collar guys in New Zealand doing some actual learning from his online videos. I believe several coaches here have said it's impossible to teach boxing online.
So I continued to follow Barry and this forum. Then I see this thread in May. I work in Thailand and have always been interested in trying boxing so I thought I'd try to contact Barry. He was very busy that particular trip. As I later came to learn he was contracted specifically to teach Boxing for Muay Thai to Kem, Sitthichai, Thongchai, & Rolex. All world champions. During that trip also contracted to train with the Thai National Boxing team and several MMA fighters in the area. One boxer and his father specifically came all the way from Brighton just to train with Barry in Thailand and based on that 2 month trip the kid who is half Dutch/Thai made the Thai National Boxing team.
Anyway Barry was unavailable.
Last month I heard Barry was coming back to Thailand to help a new gym launch. I was determined to work with him + I have a White Collar event soon.
Barry was available. Truthfully I didn't know what to expect based on the way people talk about him here...One of the most down to earth and coolest people I have ever met. To that point I have had 6 boxing sessions. Barry is an unbelievable teacher & very passionate about boxing. He even made a training video for me. I am going to prep with him for this event. I feel lucky and honored for him to take his time to work with me.
I think it's insane that he even puts that much info out there for free and anyone looking to learn something refreshing about boxing might want to give the man your ear & mind.

First off he is a trainer not a fighter so he will get a pass on the moving around with the little guy but hell the way he used to post on this forum would tend to make someone believe he could actually fight a little.
And that is clearly not the case, but hey I guess you don't have to know how to fight to be a coach, not my coach, but a coach.
I have no confidence learning something from someone who could not do it themselves.
But everybody is different

I'm glad my trainer didn't shove that shoulder roll stuff down my throat, he actually helps me learn knowledge of self. I'm not the second coming of Mayweather, I understand that which is why I work hard on becoming the first Hyper Knuckles. None of the guys at my gym utilize Philly Shell because we're all unique young scholars in our own right. But so help me God if you stick one of those "Easy Work" greenies/groupies in the ring with me the kid gloves are coming off. I'm sorry but war it is.

No offense to anyone here but I have learned more from his fb & youtube pages than I have from anyone on this training forum.

I work with many different personalities as an consultant and often have to outsource to people whom personalities are not in my taste. However they do a great job and I'm not paying them for their social skills outside of the job they are doing. Lastly Barry outside of this forum is a highly regarded coach in boxing, boxing for mms, boxing for kick boxing, & boxing for muay thai. 1 would have to look beyond the surface of his forum history to know that. Howeve like you said, to each it's own. However I am not ignoring this man's experience and accomplishments globally because of his personality online.
I am of the philosophy that the best trainer or teacher in the world can not teach a blind man to see, so in other words you can not teach someone something they do not have the god given ability to do.
So to me the fighter makes the trainer not the other way around, and I would not want to learn math from someone who themselves can not add or subtract.
But of course everybody is different and one size does not fit all.
Good luck in your endeavors my friend.

Was he just having fun. Was this an initiation for fun? Does Barry ever post sparring? Is there any other sparring on his channel?
For the young people reading I always encourage you to do your own research and Barry is not hard to reach on his FB or website. Ask the man what his experience is..rumors are often inaccurate
