  • Need help with endurance?

I have good technique and I can punch very hard but I get tired after a few minutes and no matter how much conditioning or jump roping I do it doesnt get much better at all is there any type of secret to endurance and conditioning?

Do you have big legs by any chance? Where is most of your muscle mass basically.

You need to start doing some long distance running mixed in with some explosive sprints.

Hmm I thought you would have similar problem to me. I'm also 6'2 and I have big legs, real big compared to my arm size...people think I play rugby or football or something, not box. But I'm similar in terms being fundamentally sound with good power but lacking that endurance. I'm usually around 180lbs so I suppose we are similar but my leg mass is what's making me heavier. It's good in ways cos I have a really strong base and I'm really hard to knock off my feet and I can carry power but in terms of a lot of movement and my arms having less mass gives me some issues with endurance. I'd say it's just an issue of time and doing your conditioning work diligently... I'm gonna hope it improves in my case.

Like some others have mentioned maybe start doing some long and short distance running.

Are you eating enough and the right type of foods as well?

Are you getting tired during sparring or hitting bags?

You're probably suffering from an iron or b12 deficiency, possibly even some underlying health condition. I suggest you get some blood work done to get a better assessment.
