You are referring to body recomposition - losing fat whilst gaining muscle.

Do whatever you enjoy the most! Whether its hitting the heavy bag, rowing, cycling, weights, other cardio. As long as you are raising your heart rate !!! and achieve muscle hypertrophy by doing some resistance training

Slowly increase the intensity of your workouts and you will see results without injuring yourself! All the best!

Well, first it's 90% diet. You need to learn at least basic nutrition if you aren't paying someone to take care of that for you. First is to learn about carbs. The only suitable times for carb intake are when you first wake up and immediately following a hard work out. I would limit it to 150g a day of GOOD carbs like sweet potatoes, squash, fruits, that family.

Second is to add unconventional HIIT work outs to your routine. There are SEVERAL Youtube channels offering real time work outs for free that you can do in a jail cell type space with minimal equipment.

If you do nothing else these two things will shape you better and quicker than anything else.

You can't convert fat into muscle, they're two different tissues... To lose fat you simply eat less calories then you need to maintain your current weight, weightlifting will help your body composition as you'll maintain as much muscle as possible whilst on a caloric deficit.

To replace fat with muscle, join gym as gyms are the best places to lose weight, add muscles and tone body. Workout daily, lift weight and increase your protein intake. Drink more water than routine, avoid skipping meals and manage stress.

Iv'e been working out for years and I finally found something that works, and it will work for you.Weight lift hard in the morning and don't eat anything at
all until noon, then eat food with little to no carbs.Don,t even eat before you
lift, just get up and lift without eating anything.By not eating, this generates
            growth hormone.In 1 and a half months,I lost 20lbs and I have nice muscle
definition. The muscles are starving so they burn all the fat for fuel.
