How heavy are professional boxing gloves?

I don't know if this is a dumb question, but how heavy are they? I know there are different sizes. How heavy would a small fighter use. People always tell me the gloves are a bit heavy.

It's 8 0z in heavyweight I know that. I think they might use 6 0z below middle but I'm not sure.

                  Heavyweights use 8 oz

And sparring gloves are heavier for a reason. They have more padding to reduce risk of injury and if you can punch well with heavy gloves you can do it better with lighter gloves.

******... you dont shadow box with weights that ****s up your timing...you shadow box to work on technique and speed. that how you get power... you wear heavier gloves when workin the bag or sparring.. not shadow boxing...
