If you're a fighter, I would advise training at night, as usually that's when your fights will take place. Let your body get adapted to constant motion during those hours of the day.

I'm not a pro boxer. I just train because I enjoy it and it makes me feel good.

But your advice is good for pro/amateur boxers

Ideally if you have the time, break up your workouts into at least two, even if one is only a long run or something, someone brought up a good point of training at night, though for us with a not-so-deep amateur background, that doesn't matter much, but for new pros and such it can be important.

If I was a pro I would have 3 major workouts in a day, but I am an amateur with a full time job, so I workout once a day at best, but I get it on when I do.

A saying I learned in the military that I apply to boxing as well: "You get out of a workout, what you put in to it". That means, even if you only have 15 mins to do a workout, make it a hellacious 15 mins, work hard every minute and it will be more beneficial to you than if you worked out for an hour and slacked off for the duration of that hour.

That's great advice. I've had workouts where it's gone terrible but I tell myself push through it to produce a few mins of quality whether it be cardio machines at the fitness gym or the heavy bag. Some intense work to finish off.

I always find once I get going, I can be a beast.

I train at night like 10pm-1am usually after everything is done and I have eaten plenty, when I work the 7am shift I take a long nap in mid afternoon or I just won't have it in me to train......things are not as they were when I was 21.

The best time to train is when you are awake.

when you're young and have the time, it's the morning.

the best shape i've been in [i was one of the best lacrosse players in massachusetts. it's a popular sport here.] saw me waking up in the morning to train or run.

now that i'm an adult, i take time to exercise when i can. i get in the gym for less than an hour on most weekdays, and on the weekend i either spend a couple hours a day in the gym, or i ski. i'm currently looking for a summer hobby / sport.

I been boxing for 2 months now and I work out at night as that's when the class's are. But before boxing I lifted weights for a year and some advice I was given about the best time to work out is anytime! They told me workout at the time I liked and feel I could get the best workout so for me that's the evenings (not a morning person) because that's the time you feel like you want to workout and you get a better workout. So this helps you to be more consistent with working out, which is the key to improving and seeing results.

I do my conditioning/cardio in the morning, boxing in the afternoon, and if I'm lucky more cardio at night with my girlfriend.
