    Running = Boxing Cardio?

    Many of yall that are used to running might think I sound ****** for this but here goes: My whole life boxing I've always thought the BEST way to improve your cardio is boxing, just go 15 rounds, maybe not sparring (not safe) but I always prefer just going as many rounds as possible high intensity on the bag.

    What do ya'll think? How do you improve your cardio?

        Your encompassing muscle stamina too with the heavybag. I see your point.

          Both are important.

          If I go a week or two without intense running my stamina goes to sht.

          At the same time if I go a week or two without intense heavy bag workouts my stamina as far as effective boxing goes to ****. I can still not get hit because I have the legs and wind to move as much as I need but throwing punches at any type of high pace winds me quickly.

          I think running hard is where you get most of your wind and stamina but it dosent condition your body to throw punches at an intense pace like the heavy bag does.

          Put both together for the complete package.

            Interesting. Yeah when I hit the bag I act like it's a real opponent, I try not to be sloppy, spring backwards, circle around often etc. Ima start running more

              No matter what you do you have to do it intense. Lets not forget about jump rope, speed bag, double end bag, slip rope and everything else I am forgetting.

              You may just get a better wokout on the heavy because you don't think about it as much. You smash on it and don't think about how much effort you are putting out on it because it is fun. There is money to be made on all the other exercises as well, you just have to focus more on pushing yourself to the fullest.
