    Heavy bag killing my wrist!!

I usually go at least 12rds on a 150lb bag and the shock that i absorb every now and then (my technique isnt bad but a wild hook is inevitable) hurts my wrists. I train in 14oz right now i will be getting some 16s soon but the everlasts protex2s that i have has some terrible wrist support. I pay extra attention to my wrist when wrapping but my wrists just ache...i cant even punch as hard as i would like to. I think I have a wrist contusion from my wrist snapping back! When you all train do you ever hurt your wrist when hooking hard?

Rest the injury long enough to heal it properly and learn good form. A wild hook shouldnt hurt the wrist.

Tyson said if you have good enough technique you shouldn't feel much at all when you hit the heavy-bag.

Also maybe lighten and soften the bag, and wear more padded gloves with better wrist support.

use a handgrip to strengthen your wrists.

there are tons available to buy online or your local sports shop.

heres a link to one but theres loads of others on amazon:

also, the problem is more likely to exist the more you hit the boxing as its moving towards you.
