  • What is your opinion on fat burners?

I'm 5'6 165 lbs. I got a good amount of body fat on me and I need to cut weight and get down to at least around 150's, and eventually hopefully to the 140's. I don't have to make it to that weight in a certain time frame, but the sooner I can, the better.

I have lot of discipline and can do it with no problem just through hard work and dedication. However, I was thinking of also taking fat burning supplements while I work on permanently cutting the weight in order to get down there faster. I've never used them before but they're supposed to speed up your metabolism and the fat burning process. I've never been that low before, and the reason why I wanna get there faster is so that when I get there, I can spend more time at that weight and get better accustomed to it.

Is this a good idea or a bad one?

lower your calories and increase your work rate once you get to the weight you want to stay at play around with your calories and figure out how much you can eat while maintaining your new lower weight and doing the same routine

What way2strong said... Don't look for shortcut . From what i know, there are no really bad side effects to fat burners but use it as a last resort when you want your body to target fat for energy. Exercise and diet. If you tell me what foods you usually eat and what times of the week your willing to work out I'll give you a rough idea on what to do.

Fatburners get taken off the market more frequently than other supplements due to the fact that sometimes ingredients are used which are harmful to your health. I avoid fatburners in general because of this. If you want to use them anyway, be sure to inform yourself very well.

They're not always safe. Off the top of my head I can count eight people that I know personally who have taken them. Two of those developed palpations and an irregular heartbeat. Every single one of them eventually put the weight back on.

Plus, they're really aren't necessary. Your body doesn't need help burning fat. All it needs is for you to get out of the way and stop putting certain foods in your mouth.

It helps to remember that refined grains in bread, rice and pasta have an effect on your body that really isn't to dissimilar to eating sugar. Cut them out in favour of wholegrain rice, quinoa, millet etc. and dramatically up your intake of raw and cooked vegetables. Consume more pulses and beans.

Your body is basically scanning for three things to determine whether it's satiated. Stretch receptors in your stomach are used to monitor the volume of food that you've eaten, but not the weight, and your small intestine has a number of chemoreceptors that monitor for nutrient and calorie content.

The bulk and nutrient content of vegetables, particular green leafy ones, tick two of those boxes. Plus your body often burns more calories processing veg than is contained in it, so the more you eat the more weight you'll lose and because hunger pangs are all about chemical signals, which nutrient rich and bulky food 'switches off' you'll lose weight without getting hungry. The added bonus is that you don't have to count calories.

Once you know a little about the why and how it really is simple and painless to lose weight and keep it off. My guess is, if you do choose to take fat burners instead, you'll put it all back on. Plus you can lose ten pounds safely in just over a month, that's fast enough without needing to take any risks.

Eating white rice and pasta being bad for you is untrue.
