  • Help with footing

    Hey guys,

quick question, whenever (most of the time anyway) i throw a 1-2, when it is time for me to throw the right hand, i throw it but my main source of power for it is the hip rotation because I raise my back foot.

I don't have time to jab, reset myself and then push off with the back foot for my right hand when moving forward, so instead i use my hips to drive me forward, kinda like this:

at 4:02 but im a bit more upright lol

my back foot rises of the ground

    is this wrong or something?

    cheers everyone

when your backfoot rises from a straight you are reaching, and when you are reaching you have already lost some power, plus you are a sitting target for a good long while after reaching like that

you need some snappy leg exercises to get your feet to keep up with you, practice the 1-2 covering as much distance as you can whilst keeping your fundamentals, jog some, do those ladder things donaire does

    here:

you get the idea right? you gotta get lighter i.e faster on your feet
