  • Fighting a boxer with alot more fights

Hello, I am having my second boxing fight in one month at the brampton cup. My first fight wasnt much of a fight tho,It was my first and my opponent was on his fifth, plus he was tallest kid ive ever seen my age, i couldnt even reach him, ref stoped the fight first round. So I'd pretty much consider myself at the mind state of someone whos never fought before. I was never nervous till i got to the event, and when i got in the ring i was thinking right. And for my next fight I dont want that to happen. So say for example I fight someone again with 5 fights, Is that a huge advantage I should be worried about? Has anyone ever beat someone on their first fight to someone who already had alot of experience? What are some tips to stay confident no matter how many fights my opponent has had. I want to win.

    Shadowbox at fightpace
Hit the bag at fight pace
Get you're cardio right, the more cardio, the more energy, the more speed, etc

    Spar, spar, spar, spar!

But fighting some1 with five fights when you haven't done one is complete bull**** imo, idk who's getting you your fights but you should talk to him.

I fought the national jo champion in my 5th fight ever. It was against Tarick Slamaci who had tons of fights more than me. I had been boxing for about 5 or 6 months at the time. Watched Vision Quest and moved up to the 'A' class to fight to be like Loudan. Close fight but I lost a decision.

Just get in there and do your thing, do not hesitate to initiate........ Rockin'

If your 16+ years old your considered a novice boxer if your a member of the USA amatuer network. Anyone with 1 to 9 fights is a novice, after 9 fights your an open class fighter so someone with 15 fights could box someone with 100 but again your trainer should now your regional coach and matches should be made with talent levels in mind!
Talent determines who you fight and when you fight, most amatuers with 50+ bouts should be good fighters or why continue a career at that point if your not good.

Train hard, do NOT disrespect yourself by training easy!
We make the training very hard so the fight may come easier.
Be first with your punches, keep hands up and try to relax!
Nervous energy can take your power away!!
Remind yourself that you trained hard and your there to give everything you have, don't cheat yourself!
good luck, go get em'! Ray Corso
