My advise when you throw the long range hook is to finish the shot on the other side of your opponents chin.
Honestly though, you have to be pretty fast to pull those hooks out of nowhere. Get the jab working, walk the ring touching him and fienting. Feint him and touch him again. Fake the jab while stepping in with your front foot. Follow up with your back foot into position and then turn the hook over on him while he's reachingh for yor jab. You can also, with the front foot stepping, turn the hook when thfoot touches the canvas, spin off and start punching him in the face or body with your right hands. You'll be kinda behind him.
Turn the hook over with a STRAIGHT WRIST and the elbow up. When you land the hook your fist should rotate to about 4 o'clock. Start the hook high and wide then bringing it down on a 45' angle to seperate his chin with the elbow held high.
If you like this I could explain the behind the back, under the right leg, triple Lindy uppercut. Fabulous move it is............. Rockin'
if you are asking questions like that you should still be working on that jab kid, dont even think about no other punches. you never bend your wrist when you punch, ever. thats like asking if you should punch with a closed fist or an open palm. if you dont know **** like that already you cant possibly have mastered the jab to the degree you should before moving on to other punches.

1) Ive seen some people bend their wrists on hooks, theres no one way to throw a jab or a hook there are 100's of ways. (Its often "like holding a jug vertical hook style that they sometimes bend the wrist)
2) In russia its considered good form to have a slight bend in your wrist for all punches, to stop a sharp pain that can occur if the wrist is perfectly straight
I agree with the general consensus here though, wrists will be straight.
