  • Need feedback on my diet, thanks!

    Hey everyone,

    I'm currently 5'8 and 152 lbs and I wanna go down to 141 lbs...I'd like to have some feedback on my boxing diet!

    Breakfast :

    -1 cup of whole grain Oatmeal
    -1 fried egg
    -1 Whole grain bread
    -1 apple


    Lunch :
    (same thing as morning)
    -1 cup of whole grain Oatmeal
    -1 fried egg
    -1 Whole grain bread
    -1 apple


    Diner :

    -Chicken or pork
    -Steamed vegies
    -Salad
    -1 apple


    I drink only water (2-3 liters) and 1 powerade iON 4 without sugar and calories per day when training. Except from the 2 glasses of red wine I drink on fridays!

        You sure like your apples huh? lol

        Look dude, I think the diet plan looks good but it's hard for anybody here to give you real sound advice through the net because we don't know a lot of factors about you. Your best bet is to educate yourself on nutrition and health and start figuring out what works and doesn't for you. 2 and half months is more than enough time to lose 10 pounds.

          Thanks alot mate!

          Yeah, I've heard apples are good for short-term energy that's why!

          I just wanted to make sure that was a good start since I'm still a beginner in eating healthy and boxing...Of course this diet will probably change a little during those 2 months 1/2.

            You can ditch the whole grain bread for faster results. Just eat your oatmeal with an apple or with some blueberries or bananas (or pretty much any fruit that you like) along with the egg on the side.

              Ideally you eat 5-6 meals a day. You want to prevent your metabolism from slowing down. When you go too long without eating, your metabolism slows down which might lead to your body storing more fat.

              I don't see much wrong with what you are eating though. Perhaps that you could improve your schedule by cutting it up into 5-6 meals in stead of 3 meals a day. Eat someting every 2 hours to keep your metabolism going. So the same ammount in smaller portions throughout the day just to make my point clear.

                  Your diet has limited omega-3 and monounsaturated fats. Pour olive oil on the salad and switch an apple for an avocado to accomplish this, or switch the chicken for fish to get omega 3. The oilier the better. You can check the health benefits on wikipedia if you're unclear.
