    Dental gumshield

I'm going to buy a new gumshield but I'm wondering if I should get a dental gumshield or just get one that I put in hot water. I had a good one like that before but lost it at a fight so now I'm left with a **** one.

Is the dental mouthpiece worth the money? Also how does it feel and does it help/feel any different?

    Thanks in advance

I always used boil and bite shields but got my first dental one last year because I thought it would be better, I was wrong, it feels huge and ive really struggled with it even after cutting it down, maybe I got unlucky. Back to boil and bite for me.

I much prefer my dentist gum shield.
There are quite a few different types. I just have single top.
        Anyone used anything else??

I use boil and bite too. It's a still piece of gum to me. Just do the way you think.

Just gonna get a new boil and bite because I don't want to waste my money on something that I may not really like

A quick update. I've got one now and it is really good. Before i could take out my gumsield with my tounge but now its fixed in place and it takes some effort to pull it out.

The correct phrase for a mouth guard is a "mouth piece"! A form fitted piece from a dentist who understands that your boxing not playing American Football is far better than the hot water formed one! The upper & lower rubber piece is not a good protection guard either. If your not sparring or competitive the hot water formed piece is fine but if your combative the best guard is the best guard its your smile!
......regardless of which one you get always have a backup and the cheaper formed one could be used while you road work to get used to breathing from your nose. Do NOT spar without one!! Ray.
