    [VIDEO] My 2nd amateur fight

I just had my second amateur fight on Saturday.

I had been coming off a 17 month layoff due to personal reasons.

Please check me out and give me some tips and pointers.

I'm the guy in the black tanktop.

        couple questions
        1. how old are you
        2. what weight was this fight at
        3. what age did you start boxing

honestly im a hard critic, but if this is your 2nd fight then u look GREAT.

        things i liked--

i like how u bend ur knees when u throw. u have great timing, ecspecially with the right hand.

work on being first, mainly with the jab, i know your a counterpuncher but dont be so predictable

        things i didnt like

at 2:05 u got caught with a couple shots that easily could have been avoided, keep that right hand up man. at all times. an experienced fighter will hit you alot harder.

be more active, maybe your not in that good of shape yet so a pass can be given here. EVERY TIME you traded you landed some nice crisp shots.

once again keep your hands up dude. experienced fighters will take advantage of u backing up with ur hands down.

very nice work supreme. You have the length/reach but you haven't learned to use it yet, it'll come.

I liked the way that you shot right hands into his body. Why never shoot that jab into his belly? I notice you wanting to land that hook, it's a long one and I'm sure that it hurts. You want to land it, than open up space for it to land. Meaning, stick that jab in his belly, then shoot it up top. Walk the ring and when you engage shoot for his head with the jab, while rollin' the ring shoot another into his belly and again up top. Keep circling as you do, you have very nice movement for a 2 fight guy. But do you see what I am getting at here? Most people at your level, when you shoot a jab at their belly will pull their right hand from 'gaurd' position to deflect the blow (they'll reach for it). Shoot it in his belly, feint one to the belly and the shoot up top with another jab. Feint a jab to his belly and when he reaches for the blow that is not there you'll be cracking your hook off of the side of his face.

Make 'walking' a ring a thing of high priority, never stop your movement for more than 2 seconds. With your build you could walk the ring all that you want with that long jab of yours. Your feet will do you right, so use them, I can see things in your performance . Nice job.

Mix that jab up man, don't give him just one target to protect, make him defend 2 places and it will open up the hooks for you all night long. Use that jab; body/head head/head/body, mix it up! Besides that, it's always nice to hear them forcefully exhale their air after driving a strong jab deep into their gut. Every little bit counts

Best of luck, bust your ass and keep us posted............ Rockin'

Good fight! You need to be more active, not with your offence but with your movement around the ring and I would say move your upper body more & maybe use the jab more just to keep the opponent thinking. Never get overconfident after hurting your opponent. For your second fight you looked really good.

Well damn lol. You look extremely sharp. Really hard to find much wrong here. I think your recoil on your shots could be a bit quicker. In some of your exchanges and punches, you got a bit wide and it took a bit long for your punches to recoil and reestablish your guard. You came off almost TOO relaxed at moments but I'd chalk that up to you being a class or two above your opponent.

But yea man, for 2nd fight, you got the goods. You clearly are very comfortable counter punching, timing guys coming in and fighting off your back foot. I'd say practice fighting moving forward and being first. Use your amateur time to become adept at fighting virtually any style. You're ahead of the game though.

Oh, when he was pressing, you typically circled out and made him change his angle which is great. But a couple times when he was pressing, you went straight back, leaning back and standing up a bit straight. As a taller guy, this can be dangerous if he steps with you and shoots overhands. Try to always step back then laterally.

                    I am 18.
                    This fight was at 154.
                    I started at 15.

Thank you Rockin you always have excellent professional advice I will be sure to try to implement those tactics into my skillset.

                    Thank you tlaloc and constantine.

My next fight should be sometime in August. As you guys can tell I dont have much of an amateur style, so I dont plan on being an amateur for very very long. I just want to get that experience of being under the lights and the experience of being in the trenches then I want to make the transition to being pro.

Here is my first fight very long ago so you guys can make any comparisons between the two performances.
