Well, I like that you are trying to go outside the fundamentals of the sport/game, though I did not really get the entire point of the video 100%...
It was intriguing... but, are you suggesting combining drummers workout for boxing?

I've been playing drums since I was 12 yrs old! I played professionally for many years throughout my life, it was a nice way to earn some money on the side of boxing!!
The simularities are pretty simple to understand! Theres a certain amount of math to do with both activities! Theres a tremendous amount of eye hand coordination involved and a drummer is using all his extremedies as opposed to other instruments played! Maintaining a rhythm in boxing in line with your balance is essential and keeping time and having an "inside clock" as a live drummer is also essential!!

They are very close as an activity and one could benefit from the other with the exception of hand conditions! I never had problems but my actual boxing career was only a few years and when your young you can over come bad habits like pounding a heavy bag without wraps or bag gloves, bare knuckle fights don't help either! A drummer needs strong hands put they also need to be "soft in touch"!

Good job Barry, I for one benefited from my passion for both, I still have an old Yamaha Recording Custom kit set up in my music room to this day! I sit down behind it about 2 to 3 times a week and play along with cd's from bands I was in and some other favorites. One of the nice ways to clear my head...............................after reading some of the crap on here hahahaha
      Ray.
