You looked stiff and nervous or overly excited, but you're also fighting in a phone booth. (BTW Phone booths are something we had up until the early 21st century, they were little tiny houses for a phone that accepted quarters, and usually could contain one person, or one person and an intoxicated but limber girl, but enough about my 20s)

Anyway, Stance and Footwork are the things I think you should focus on right now, shadowbox in front of a mirror. Also you may want to get a T-shirt for your partner to wear when sparring you that says "Hands Up/Chin Down" that'll serve as a reminder.

And stop sticking out that elbow . . . Pet Peeve of mine . . . (also a personal habit that I worked very hard on breaking)

Keep it up though, mostly you looked stiff and nervous, I'd like to see a video of you when you're a little more comfortable in there.

Everyone here has mentioned the Jab already, there is definately some potential there, if you can work out the quirks.

How long have you been at it?

Stiff, Nervous and over-excited all in one probably lol

Thanks bud, I think the hands down thing comes from sparring shorter people, which doesn't help me keep my hands up as I constantly try and put my hands the level of their head if you get me.

I will work on the elbow its a hard one for me to get rid of, I tend to do it all the time when pressured.

Thanks for your comments anyway and Ive been at it (with a gym 11 months) To be honest only in the last 4/5 months have I started going regularly (3 times a week) for the first 6/7 months I was only going once a week

I don't really understand people saying I should stop with my upper body movement, Ive been taught to move your head you move your trunk, So I try to keep some kind of movement going so I'm not a non-moving target (well my head isnt anyway hah)

ok, nice job. The 1st 2 rounds were bs, but the 3rd round you got serious about what you were doing. Like Ray said, keep that left elbow in more. When in gaurd you are pefectly aligned to fire a good stiff jab, very similar to the ones you were working in the 3rd. But truthfully speaking from a professional view point, you're defenately tight Lol (j/k kinda), you are so exrtremely tight though. Just loosen up, get a bend in those knees and relax. Take your shoulders from beside your ears and relax. Keep in your mind to stay relaxed, control that breathing. Oh, and after you were working those good jabs you dropped a very nice right hand on him. Instead of backing immediately out into 'safe' range, you should have been looking, using your eyes They will tell you what you need to do. And that was, in that instance, to follow with a hook. You had no reason to immediately give back the ground that you just fought for.

You're in there and you're doing it, Good work, keep us posted......... Rockin'
