  • First amateur fight coming up in about a month

So i got my 1st amateur fight coming up. Im 21 years old, orthodox style, 5'8" and weigh in between 150lbs to 155lbs. I was wondering what my routine should look like this month to get ready. I have access to a boxing gym which i go to about 3 times a week but my trainer is really busy lately because he has to focus on a professional fighter thats gonna have a fight in 3 weeks. So i can maybe do some pad work with him once a week but what else should i do on my own?

He recommended me to jog 3-4 times a week and 1 day of the week i should replace the slow pace jogging with some sprint intervals. He also said i should do 200 pushups and 400 reps of ab exercises 4-5 times per week.

Anyone got some advice on the technical part? how many rounds of heavy bag, shadowboxing, speed bag, etc. Or even a training plan of some pro fighters getting ready for their fights? thank you

I would recommend the string around your feet when you hit the heavy bag to see if you're on balance. I am considering boxing sometime in the summer at Middleweight or Light heavyweight.

You can work on conditioning by yourself with no issues, but not having access to training to fine tune skills and critique sparring isn't good.

dont bother trying to follow some pro routine. just do what your trainer tells you.

try to make your conditioning work short and explosive to mimic an amateur fight.

fit in as much sparing as you can with as many diffrent style boxers as you can.

also, make sure you taper during the week of the fight so your not tired in the ring.

          good luck

            Work on jab and cardio.
First 10-20 low level amateur fights can be won easily just with a good jab and cardio.
