  • Is it possible to lose hand speed after inactivity?

I've noticed I'm not as fast as I used to be since I never trained for 6 months (besides weight training). Maybe its just physiological but is it possible to become slower in that short of a time? I know pros don't really slow down until they get old.

You probably haven't "lost" your hand speed, so much as you're not in top form. Like any sport, if you step away for awhile and come back, it takes a bit to get to your previous level physically.

Of course you lose your stamina, durability, speed etc..once you start train again and get in shape - you'll be back. and weight lifting slow down speed as well..silly goose)

you didnt train for 6 months and youre shocked you are not in the same shape (whether its strength, speed or stamina) you were before when you were training a lot? come on man, thats common sense. start training again and it'll all come back within a few weeks or so

          co sign.

but if you are a young guy its always easier to return to where you used to be at then it was getting there the first time around.

Weight lifting doesn't make you slower.
