What makes southpaws with good range dangerous? Is it because they can still hit orthodox fighters when their front foot is on the outside, which usually keeps them out of the southpaw's range? How do you fight rangy southpaws?

You gotta get on him and stay on him through the entire bout, get low (stay low) and shoot mean ass right hands straight into his ribs then work from there while working to your left. Once you catch him acouple of times he will be leary of those straight rights to his ribs. Land a few and then feint the right to the body and then shoot it straight in to his nose.

You gotta come in hard with those lead rights to the body though, really hard, when they land you have to know that he felt it. And with the feint to the body you gotta sell it man, once he bites drive your fist straight into his nose. And always follow your rights with hooks, as many as you want, to the body or to the head while working to your left.

Mix it up from there with lead rights to the body and head, throw in the feints (even feint/left hook) and such and follow with plenty of hooks while working to your left.

I was going to make a 46 minute video touting my brillance and in no way explain how to fight a tall rangy southpaw until minute 45 of the video but I decided just to write it out......... Rockin'
